Geraldine was part of the Persons with Developmental Disabilities Resource Team, winners of the Alberta Premier's Award of Excellence in 1995 and 1997.

Geraldine is a Sandan (third degree black belt) with the Shintani Wado Kai Karate Federation and a member of the Shintani Competitive Team from 2014 to 2017. Geraldine won the Gold Medal at the USA Open Karate Championship in Masters Kumite.
